Professional Training & Certification Program
Level I is our foundations program, designed to provide you with a well-rounded exploration of Ayurvedic principles in theory and practice. Suitable for those beginning their professional journey or holistic practitioners seeking to add value to their practice.
5 Month Program
The Ayurvedic Level 1 program provides a well-rounded overview of Ayurveda’s foundations, its history, and philosophies, in both theory and practice. Whether you seek the wisdom of Ayurveda to complement your life, to launch a professional career, or to enhance an existing holistic practice, Level 1 study is an excellent place to start.
In this 200-hour course, we address the basic principles of Ayurveda, its practices, lifestyle, and diet. If you are new to Ayurveda, it will be a time to immerse yourself inits language and philosophies from both a theoretical and practical standpoint.
The goal of the program is to give you the knowledge and confidence you need to practice Ayurveda at a clinical level and to be able to provide your clients with practical, actionable advice on how to improve their health.
As an Ayurvedic practitioner, you are qualified to diagnose, counsel, and recommend diet and lifestyle adjustments that will help them achieve harmony in their own lives. The successful completion of Level 1 studies is frequently a precursor to additional training, and at the very least, is a catalyst for improvements in one’s professional and personal pursuits.
If you are inspired by the wisdom of Ayurveda, the Level 1 program provides you with the foundational knowledge you need to form the basis of your journey.
Whether you are taking the course to expand your personal understanding of Ayurvedic philosophy and practice, as the first step towards a career as a holistic health practitioner, or to augment your existing alternative health practice, you are in the right place.
Our students are healthcare professionals, holistic therapists, yoga instructors, and energy workers, but they are also people just like you who:
· Have an interest in holistic healing
· Desire to help others improve their quality of life
· See the value in natural alternatives
· Want to share healing knowledge to help their community
Once you have graduated, you are ready to put your certification to work as a Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor. You may choose to work with an existing clinic to augment other healing modalities or launch your own practice.
If you are already a health practitioner, a massage therapist, yoga instructor, esthetician, dietician, or nutritionist, your certification adds value to your repertoire.Perhaps you are entrepreneurial and have ideas for Ayurvedic products or foods, or maybe you own a natural food store, and Ayurvedic counseling will help you reach a wider community.
Certainly, there are no wrong answers here. Even if you do not intend to apply your certification to a professional pursuit, your knowledge of Ayurveda will promote health, longevity, and disease prevention for you and those around you and elevate your understanding of its practical application.
Graduates of Ayurveda Level 1 training are Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor.
Those who hold this certification are qualified to practice Ayurvedic self-healing techniques and coach others on the Ayurvedic lifestyle but do not diagnose or treat diseases.
As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, you can:
· Assess an individual’s constitution
· Suggest dietary changes to address imbalances
· Suggest changes to daily routine
· Suggest lifestyle changes based on Doshic cycles
· Coach others on Ayurvedic concepts
· Illuminate the mind-body connection and how Ayurveda helps to prevent illness and emotional problems
· Provide simple therapies, such as with essential oils
· Offer dietary counseling, recipes, diet plans according to Doshic type
Your training and certification do not allow you to diagnose or treat diseases, prescribe medicines or treatments, including herbal remedies, unless you are permitted to do so under another accreditation.
Many graduates of Level 1 apply their Ayurvedic training to an existing holistic practice. Some are yoga instructors, massage therapists, or energy workers, but there is a strong trend in the medical profession also, as many practitioners are beginning to look to Ayurvedic principles to augment preventative treatment plans.
