Carol P. Prentice is a certified teacher of Yoga, Ayurveda Medicine, and theAlexander Technique.
She is a senior teacher of the Alexander Technique specializing in somatic education and health for 35 years. Carol trained with master teacher FrankOttiwell at the Alexander Training Institute at the American Conservatory Theater(ACT) in San Francisco from 1983 to 1986. Since graduating, Carol has furthered her training with first generation Alexander Teachers here in the U.S.and in Europe.
Carol trained as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (CAS) and a Pancha Karama Specialist (Ayurveda Body Therapies) She also trained in Mara Therapy and is aYoga Nidra practitioner. She graduated from the California College of Ayurveda(2008). She was on faculty and the Director of the Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist(CAS) and Ayurveda Health Practitioner (AHP) Internship Programs for 8 years.
Carol trained as a yoga teacher at the Healing Yoga Foundation in SanFrancisco. (A 500+ hour certified teacher-training program in the tradition of T.Krishnamacharya and TKV Desikachar.) She currently teaches privately in Ojai,Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Carol is passionate about helping people create a healthy lifestyle physically, mentally and spiritually. She believes that given the right tools, you can begin to heal yourself.
Carol is the founder of HandsOn Retreats, a 5-day event that combines the three disciplines of Ayurveda, Yoga and the Alexander Technique empowering people to take responsibility for there own health and healing.
